REGENERATE 3 Youth
Ministry is a new name with a new vision for the teens of our
community. Tim Nunnery, youth pastor at Westview Church, 3000
W. 41st Street, explains the three-fold vision of Regenerate3,
“The goal of R3 youth ministry
is to make disciples of our youth, to win the hearts of our youth
back to God and to restore, refresh and renew our youth.”
Beginning in September,
the evening in R3 will include fun time
and spiritual teaching. Outside activities on the basketball and volleyball
courts and inside activities with pool tables, play stations and a
pinball machine are part of the fun. The spiritual teaching time begins
with praise and worship, followed by a Biblical lesson which is relevant
to the teens lives today and finally a challenge is given to the teens
to apply the principles that are taught.
Each teen is also encouraged to complete an eight week
CD discipleship course that will be monitored by adults. Some
of the topics are:
Being Born Again
Your Part in the Church
How to Pray Effectively
Resisting Temptation
Staying Sexually Pure.
R3 is an opportunity
for teens to invite their friends who don’t know Jesus into
a fun and safe environment to hear the gospel. Along with Tim’s
leadership, there are numerous other adults to guide the evening’s
activities. The group has planned extra activities throughout the
year including attending youth rallies, fishing, bowling, evangelism
in the community and taking the gospel to the streets of Hays and
surrounding areas.
